Karl Qin
Karl Qin is currently Director of Business Development, Genzyme Biosurgery, primarily responsible for identifying and initiating new business opportunities at Genzyme through licensing and M&A. Before he joined Genzyme, he was Sr. Director, Business Development at Control Delivery Systems (CDS), a specialty pharmaceutical company in Watertown MA. Prior to CDS, he was Director, Technology Development at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston Texas) where he spent 6 years managing its technology licensing and start-up venture program. In the last 12 years, Mr. Qin has negotiated and closed more than 20 commercial transactions with major global pharmaceutical, biotech and specialty pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Qin received his Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University, his MS in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts, and graduated from Wuhan University with his BS in Molecular Biology & Virology.
